Course Summary

This one-day course introduces the concept of a SFAIRP based safety case and provides practical advice and experience of how to produce them. The course offers a comparison between the approaches and rationale for why the legislators in Australia moved from ALARP to SFAIRP. The course concludes with an interactive workshop whereby practical issues are subjected to SFAIRP option identification and sentencing. Delegates can bring their own live project subject in to the session, or use our example case studies.

Who should attend?

It is aimed at persons involved in work equipment design, manufacture, supply and maintenance who have an awareness of product safety engineering. Delegates will gain understanding of what a SFAIRP based safety case is, and how it would be demonstrated, as well as what an ALARP based case would be and how it may differ.
