This one day course will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to those persons who are nominated as the competent person for undertaking portable appliance testing as required by the Electricity at Work Regulation 1989 (EAW).
Delegates will gain understanding of electricity and knowledge on classification of equipment and associated tests. Delegates will also gain practical experience in the use of portable appliance testing equipment.

Those who have been designated the responsibility to undertake testing and maintenance of portable appliance equipment.
The material is suitable for delegates with no experience in electrical safety, although a basic understanding of working with electricity would be an advantage.
