Course Summary

This one day course is aimed at employees with a designated fire safety role in the workplace under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It equips the delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to adequately undertake their roles and responsibilities as Fire Wardens / Marshals.
Delegates gain practical experience of undertaking the fire warden checks (day-to-day duties) and the actions to be taken during an evacuation. In addition delegates get hands on experiences of operating portable fire extinguishers to attack small fires.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at existing employees to help them identify and reduce the risks from fire in the workplace.
Give employees the knowledge into the proactive measures of a Fire Warden / Marshal in order to assess potential issues in the workplace.
The material is suitable for delegates with no experience in Fire Safety.

Course outline

Principles of fire
Roles and responsibilities under current legislation,
Identifying common fire hazards
Evacuation and human behaviour
Walk-around – hazard spotting exercise
Fire extinguishers including practical exercise
Multiple choice questions

Certification

All persons who pass the course will be given a certificate of training which is recognised from the Institute of Fire Engineers
