Until recently, Harrogate Homeless Project contracted-out their PAT testing to be done on annually.  At the same time, fire precautions meant that residents could only take electrical equipment into their rooms if it was PAT tested - so once per year they may get lucky!  SOA Safety put into place a tailored training programme so that low voltage devices are now PAT tested in-house by staff.  As well as saving money on contracted-out testing, they also offer the service to clients so that they can use electrical goods in their rooms.  This really is a win-win-win: less cost, added income and better service!
