Course Summary
This half day course introduces the dangers of and suitable control measures for dealing with harmful substances. The course is designed to provide delegates with awareness in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and how it may affect them, their colleagues and their employer.
Under the COSHH Regulations, employers must provide sufficient information, instruction and training so that employees are fully aware of the risks to health from exposure and the precautions they need to take.
The course material / handouts are used in conjunction with the Health and Safety Legislation and associated guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for managers, supervisors and employees who are required to use or handle hazardous substances
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course you should be able to:
- awareness of the regulations and an understanding of duties and legislation
- understanding of their roles under the legislation
- increased awareness of the health and safety issues associated with using and handling hazardous substances
- skills on safe handling of substances
- understanding of suitable control measures to reduce the risks
- knowledge of how to manage an incident
- understanding of the recording and reporting process

Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a SOA Safety certificate of attendance.
