This one day course is aimed at employees with a designated fire safety role in the workplace under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It equips the delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to adequately undertake their roles and responsibilities as Fire Wardens / Marshals.

Delegates gain practical experience of undertaking the fire warden checks (day-to-day duties) and the actions to be taken during an evacuation. In addition delegates get hands on experiences of operating portable fire extinguishers to attack small fires.

At the end of this course you should be able to:

• Understand how fires start and spread
• Know their duties under fire safety legislation
• Understand their roles as a fire warden
• Ability to recognise workplace fire hazards
• Gain awareness of human behaviour in fire and how to encourage evacuation
• Ability to identify fire classes and their correct extinguishing media
